Sylvia Edwards
Sylvia Edwards is the primary manager and consultant for all business matters pertaining to the Religious, Association, Military and Government markets for the Conference Center and began her career in the hotel hospitality industry approximately 20 years ago before joining the Chesapeake Conference Center team in August 2000. She was an Event Coordinator for 5 years and was promoted to Sales Manager in 2005.
Sylvia attended Northampton County East High School in North Carolina and went on to graduate from Virginia Institute of Technology. Sylvia also attended Norfolk State University where she studied business and marketing. These skills have helped her to obtain many awards and recognitions, including Sales Manager of the Year (2006-2007), as well as sales manager of the first, second and third quarter of the year (2007-2008).
Sylvia is a member of Saint Paul’s Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia. She is also a member of the Society of Government Meeting Planners and has recently joined Women In Defense, an organization with the mission of “Cultivating and supporting the advancement and recognition of women in all aspects of national security.” Sylvia is married and has one daughter.
