Hosting a Ticketed Event at Chesapeake Conference Center

Planning a concert, sporting event, consumer show, or any event where you'll be selling advance tickets? Chesapeake Conference Center is proud to be a Ticketmaster facility, giving you access to the industry's most trusted ticketing platform along with the full support of our in-house Ticket Office team.

What It Means to Be a Ticketmaster Venue

As a Ticketmaster facility, we handle the technical and administrative side of ticketing so you can focus on promoting and delivering a great event. Here's how it works:

  • A dedicated point of contact. Before any public announcement goes out, you'll work directly with our Ticket Office Manager to set up your event in the Ticketmaster system — covering pricing, discounts, pre-sales, and your official on-sale date.
  • Trusted, secure sales. All general admission and VIP tickets are sold exclusively through Ticketmaster, giving your patrons a secure, familiar purchasing experience — online, by phone, or in person.
  • A cashless, streamlined event day. Payment is accepted by credit card only, and walk-up guests can purchase easily via an on-site QR code — no lines at a box office, no cash-handling hassles for you.
  • Transparent settlement. At the close of your event, you'll receive a full manifest of ticket inventory, sales, discounts, and complimentary tickets, so you always know exactly where things stand.
  • You keep control of your brand. You retain 100% of the rights to sell merchandise related to your event, and you can track sales in real time with a Promoter's T Code or daily sales email updates.

Our team's job is to make ticketing simple, secure, and worry-free — so your event sells out and runs smoothly from the first ticket to the final settlement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do we have to use Ticketmaster for our event? Yes. All general admission and VIP tickets for events at Chesapeake Conference Center are sold exclusively through Ticketmaster. This ensures secure transactions, broad market reach, and a seamless experience for your patrons.

How far in advance do we need to plan our on-sale date? Ticket copy, pricing, discounts, and any withheld tickets must be submitted to our Ticket Office no less than seven (7) working days before your on-sale date. This gives our team time to set everything up correctly and gives you confidence that your event will launch on schedule.

Can we offer discounts or special promotions? Absolutely. Just provide written notice of any discount or special offer, along with sample promotional materials, at least seven (7) business days before your on-sale date. Full details — including disclaimers and any required ID — should be provided no later than 48 hours before the discount becomes available to the public.

What fees are included in the ticket price? All advertised ticket prices must include applicable fees and taxes, so your patrons always see one clear, all-in price — no surprises at checkout. Ticketmaster service fees generally range from $3.75–$10.90 per ticket, depending on event type. Standard state and local taxes (6% Virginia Sales Tax, 10% City Admissions Tax) and a 2.72% credit card processing fee also apply.

Is there a limit on how many tickets we can sell? Tickets can never be sold beyond the safe seating capacity of the venue. Our team also reserves a small number of seats for sound console and operational needs, ensuring a safe, comfortable experience for every guest.

Can we get complimentary tickets for VIPs, sponsors, or staff? Yes. You and our Ticket Office will agree on a set number of complimentary tickets in advance. Simply designate one authorized representative to approve any comp ticket requests, keeping the process simple and accountable.

How do we track ticket sales as they come in? You'll have real-time visibility through a Promoter's T Code, or you can opt in to receive a daily email with your ticket sales numbers — whichever works best for your team.

Will we get a final report after the event? Yes. At settlement, our Ticket Office provides a complete manifest showing total inventory, tickets sold, discounted tickets, and complimentary tickets processed — giving you a clear, accurate picture of your event's performance.

What if we need to cancel or postpone? We understand plans can change. If an event is canceled, we handle refunds directly to ticket holders on your behalf. A computer set-up fee and ticket handling charge on tickets sold to that point will apply to cover the administrative work of processing refunds.

Can we sell merchandise at our event? Yes — you retain 100% of merchandise sales related to your event. (Concessions are operated by Chesapeake Conference Center.)

Who has access to the Ticket Office? For security purposes, access is limited to approved personnel only, ensuring your event's ticket sales and revenue are handled with care and integrity from start to finish.
